Warm greetings from us at APICS!

2023 was an exciting year for us at Society of Intensive Care Medicine (SICM) and ANZICS, with yet another successful APICS 2023 marking our 10th edition. We received 868 registered delegates and 121 speakers/moderators of 29 countries. The significant event was marked by 29 symposia and 5 plenary sessions, with 90% of delegates being satisfied/very satisfied (0% dissatisfied) with the overall scientific content relevancy and usefulness for their practice.

Emerging well from the covid-19 pandemic, we introduced the inaugural APICS Asia Pacific Societies Summit, APICS Abstracts Spotlight and distributed 26 travel awards to delegates in LMIC countries. This was made possible by generous contributions from some of our speakers. We had 15 Asia Pacific Critical Care Societies Leads and Representatives to discuss the challenges and opportunities for collaboration within the region. We also saw the first-ever APICS Simulation Challenge for an immersive and experiential learning experience.

Our theme for 2024 is “Best Care Beyond Borders” where we focus on harnessing the latest scientific developments to benefit critical ill patients at an individual level in different ICUs and countries. One size does not fit all, so our approaches need to be adaptable and catered to every unit and country’s resources. We look forward to continued collaborations within the region and are ever committed to improve accessibility of critical care knowledge to benefit all.

In 2024, our scientific programme will expand again to 2 days of pre-conference workshops, followed by 3 days of the main conference. As with previous APICS, we will continue to feature a comprehensive range of workshops, close interactions at our APICS Abstract Spotlight Sessions and interactive discussions between delegates and renowned speakers at symposiums, and close engagements with our trade sponsors for the latest technologies.

APICS 2024 promises to provide ample learning opportunities for all levels. From medical students, trainees, nurses, pharmacists and allied health to doctors, we have designed an exciting programme that meets your learning needs. Yet again, we will expand our programme to encompass a comprehensive range which includes Obstetrics, Green initiatives, Rapid Response Systems, Artificial Intelligence in the Intensive Care Unit, and a full Paediatrics track for the main conference.

You will be thrilled to experience Singapore, a vibrant city state featuring iconic landmarks, a melting pot of cultures and food delicacies, safe environments, welcoming communities, and a comprehensive public transportation system for travelers.
