Workshop Title | APICS 2025 Pre-Congress Critical Care Ultrasound (CCUS) Workshop | |||

Introduction | This is an introductory course on Critical Care Ultrasound (CCUS) for novices with little or no prior training in CCUS. The course is open to junior physicians, nursing, allied professionals who want to begin their learning journey in CCUS. This workshop comprises modules in Lung/Diaphragm Ultrasound, Lower Extremity DVT/Arterial Point of Care Ultrasound, Abdominal / FAST Ultrasound, Venous Excess Score (VExUS) and Focused Cardiac Ultrasound which will be taught according to the FUSIC curriculum by enthusiastic intensive care specialists who have attained formal international certification in CCUS and have a passion for teaching CCUS. There is a strong emphasis on hands-on practice in small group sizes of 4-5 pax per instructor. Participants can register for individual modules or the entire programme. | |||

Introduction | Current Concepts in Critical Care is a two day course designed for the advanced trainees and consultants in Intensive Care, Emergency Medicine or Anaesthesia. The course focuses on in-depth discussions about complex problems/situations that clinicians encounter in their daily practice in critical care. The discussions are facilitated in small groups with major emphasis on interactive learning. There will be a total of 8 modules each run by two experts in that particular field. The material learnt will provide an excellent primer for those doing fellowship examinations, or it could be an advanced refresher for the practising clinician. | ||
