Introduction Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS) aims to improve patient care and outcomes during the critical first hours following neurological emergencies. ENLS promotes a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach using a consistent set of protocols, practical checklists, decision points, and suggested communication to use during patient management. This course covers 14 protocols developed by Neurocritical Care Society.
Objectives
  1. Understand the specific clinical needs of patients in the early phases of neurological and neurosurgical emergencies.
  2. Meet these needs by standardising the management using ENLS protocols.
  3. Use of checklists to address important clinical points.
  4. Use of checklists to improve handovers.
  5. General Critical Care (e.g. airway and ventilation, pharmacotherapy).
Target Participants Healthcare professionals from Emergency, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Internal Medicine and Critical Care who manage critically ill patients with acute neurological emergencies.

Introduction Current Concepts in Critical Care is a 2-full day course designed for the advanced trainees and consultants in Intensive Care, Emergency Medicine or Anaesthesia. The course focuses on in-depth discussions about complex problems/situations that clinicians encounter in their daily practice in critical care. The discussions are facilitated in small groups with major emphasis on interactive learning. There will be a total of 8 modules each run by two experts in that particular field. The material learnt will provide an excellent primer for those doing fellowship examinations, or it could be an advanced refresher for the practising clinician.
Objectives A Deep dive into 8 topics, starting from clinical cases to current evidence an in-depth review over 2 days with 2 experts covering each topic.

  1. Burns-Early management including fluids, airway, and long-term wound infections
  2. ARDS- Case-based discussion covering Proning, ventilatory management, including discussion about Protective lung ventilation and PEEP
  3. Infectious Diseases- Case-based discussion. MRO and Antibiotic choices.
  4. Neurocritical care-Case based discussion: SAH, Head Injury, High ICP.
  5. Hepatology- Liver Failure and Post-Liver transplant care.
  6. Tracheostomy- Emergencies, Obstruction, Bleeding, Practical management using Mannequin.
  7. Vascular Emergencies-Ischemic Limb and Aortic Emergencies
  8. Trauma- Case based discussion about poly trauma, resuscitation evidence and recommendations.
